Why Are Playgroups Important for Preschoolers?
- A playgroup may
be something you could consider if you want to help your preschooler child make
new friends and meet new people, while learning necessary social skills.
- A playgroup
could be considered a gathering of similarly-aged kids and their caregivers or
parents. It is typically meant for kids who ages are five years or are younger,
which means that even if you child is attending preschool or the best school in Borivali, they could still go to a playgroup. The playgroup would meet
regularly either in a common space such as a community center, park, or
library, or in someone’s home.
- Research
suggests that attending a playgroup in Borivali West or elsewhere benefits both
the child as well as their parent. The regular playgroups support kid’s social
development, improve overall health, and ease the transition process to school,
while also providing the parents health and social support, learning opportunities,
and knowledge sharing.
- In playgroups,
kids get an opportunity to practice social skills, that too in a familiar and
safe environment. The adults could get both support and friendship from the
people who do understand what they are undergoing exactly.
- Activities could
be organized for children, such as crafts and song-time, or they could simply
come to a designated place and play. It is important that it is figured out in
advance what each and every participant want from that playgroup. Some might
want an informal meeting, while other may prefer a more formal playgroup
structure.
